There are too many loose ito wraps showing up, and these things do wear out. So how is the sword owner supposed to fix his or her own? We need a video on how this is done of course. Unfortunately, a search of You Tube comes up dry. So, your mission, should you accept it, is to make or find a video showing us all how to properly wrap a tsuka. There is one video on You Tube that makes an attempt, using electrician's tape:

For loose ito, I just put a little bit of gorilla glue on a toothpick and stick it in the loose part. Works every time.

Sam, that's the same "tutoral" diagram I referenced, just another link to it. Personally, I find it hard to follow, but then knot tying in Boy Scouts came hard to me too.
What we really need is a video.

Get Wally Hayes' video then, and you can learn to do it, plus learn to make a WHOLE katana as well.

Okay, I posted a short video tutorial on basic tsuka-maki. I started a new thread for it in the "Sword Customization Projects" section:
/index.cgi?action=display&board=swordcustom&thread=1205815755
Check it out!
