In my original first thread I was given a link to a page which had coupon codes for discounts on different sites. Swords of the east was one of the ones listed. Now I know that this site really doesn't promote bad sites....But I also haven't really heard anything about this site from anyone. Everyone always recommends kult of athena and trueswords (at the bottom of the page)...But I can save a bit of money from buying from thanks to the coupon (pretty much gives me free shipping in this case)....So my question is, has anyone recently, or at all, made a purchase from swordsoftheeast.com and did everything go well? Thanks in advance. ~Dove

I bought from them a little over a year ago. Everything went pretty smoothly. My impression is that maybe they don't update their site as often as they should. You might want to contact them first to make sure they have an item in stock before purchasing.

I see. I never thought about that being a possibility. Ok, well, I'll shoot them an email and see if its there. Thanks for that advice. I'm open to any other opinions as well or things I might need to look out for.
And question, did shipping take a while? or was it rather good? Because I've heard of 1 day shipping from trueswords.com....which might would have depended on where they were...so yeah...How long was your shipping, if you can remember....?

I wanted to get a Cheness Mokko kat from the SBG store in time to give it to a friend as a wedding present. Unfortunately, the Cheness warehouse was closed for that month which meant that new orders wouldn't ship until a few days after the wedding date. This information was posted on the SBG store site and I seem to recall that the KoA site also warned of delays. I think the Swords of the East site had the Mokko listed as in stock, which led me to order from them.
Well, as I'd feared, they didn't actually have it in stock. The good thing was that they e mailed me right away to let me know what was up. They were very apologetic and gracious. They were willing to ship a different sword of comparable value of my choosing. I declined, as I felt the Mokko was perfect for my friend and ended up getting it to him a few days after the wedding. As good as their word, the shipping, from the point when the warehouse was back in operation, was pretty quick. I think it took about 2 or 3 days. Of course it helped that the Cheness warehouse is also in California. So... the lesson I learned was, when in doubt, call first. Or not. Since it worked out OK anyway. Alright, so I didn't really learn a lesson. This post is getting a lot longer than it needs to be. Ok, shutting up now...

Hehehehe No, no, good story actually. Hmmm...well that out-of-stock email is a very reassuring thing. I think I will go with them. Thanks for your help. I'm hoping my Katana will arrive some time this week, placing the order tomorrow once I hit the bank. +1
