Hello all, Does anyone know where I might be able to find a sabre belt like the one pictured? I'm not too particular on whether it is buff leather or black dyed, but I know of nowhere that does these. Any help would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: File wouldn't attach, but here's the URL. It's not exactly like it, but a quick run through of my sword/renfest websites brought up this. Not being a military aficionado, I wouldn't know where to get something exactly like that, but if you wanted, you could talk to SlayerofDarkness; he makes leather goods and has made several sword belts for SBG members. Perhaps he'd be able to do this, as well.

It's essentially a Civil War era over-the-shoulder sabre belt. These guys carry one in black for $95. The only differences are that the one on the merc site has a Civil War buckle with clips on the hangers rather than leather loops. www.mercurysutler.com/leather.htm

www.hussarsaddlery.com/index.htmlThe pic for the Washington Artillery site referenced shows a pre 1850s buff white style of belt common to euro armies from the 1790 until the conversion to dark colors schemes just before the Civl War. Your pic shows an uncommon buff with a shoulder strap. I really don't know of an off the shelf retailer who has one of these. You can provide the above with a pic of what you want and get a quote. There are other vendors you might reserch here: www.sharpecompendium.net/shops/

Thank you all, gents. I'm not at all interested in Windlass Steelcrafts leather goods, as I've noticed they tend to be inferior quality, but thank you for the input. The hussar saddlery looks to be the way to go, especially since it would be for a Napoleonic, either an AN XI or the 1802. I had never seen a buff white belt with a shoulder strap either, as most of the belts from the 1790-1820 ish period I've seen lacked one. I might look at that Civil war belt for my 1860, though. Thanks again for the input.
