I'm guessing he doesn't have a coupon code at the SBG sword store.

. . . and on that happy note, per Paul's request we're locking this thread down. Haz has requested that his business is not to be discussed in any way, shape or form on SBG due to threats of legal action. So, we're going to comply.
Edit to add: Thread remaining locked pending further discussion and/or action on behalf of the mods, admins, and such.

Hey folks, we are going to go ahead and reopen the thread. We apologize for any inconvenience. Those of you that have been members of SBG back when we were on ProBoards may remember Hazama Yakiba. Those of you that don't - or are hearing the name for the first time - have probably gathered from the feedback contained herein this thread, that he is not the biggest fan of the Sword Buyers Guide, or the Sword Buyers Guide Forum. This is probably due to the fact that we welcome sword enthusiasts, practitioners, and sellers alike, to contribute honest unbiased feedback that serves as a comprehensive resource for the worldwide community of sword lovers, and future sword lovers. This type of honesty tends to ruffle a couple feathers from time to time, especially when the feedback is less than flattering. Occasionally, this type of proactive 'buyer beware' feedback about a product or service is met with reactive threats of litigation by the vendor or manufacturer that provided said wares and/or services. However, this seems to be a rare exception, as most honest manufacturers & vendors welcome constructive criticism about their products & services - as they realize this type of information helps both the industry & its customer base adapt & grow. We believe strongly in maintaining that spirit our founder instilled when he created this community. That the sharing of good, honest, unbiased information is essential, especially when dealing with edged weapons. I would like to remind everyone very quickly about our slander policy, and would ask that the dialogue of such discussions remain within the acceptable limits of that policy. Basically - stick to factual information & opinions, and avoid egregious speculation or personal attacks. No area is off limits, so long as we can all maintain this level of professionalism, and abide by the forums guidelines that are in place to sustain these progressive exchanges. Thank you for your cooperation, James Gall - Global Moderator________________________________ THREAD OPENED ________________________________

Thanks I sent my specs to huawei (ebay seller of chinese swords) and expecting the sword fairly soon. They were able to create the blade according to my specs, sori, length, steel type and all. I ended up with a T10 differentially hardened blade with an interesting sori. I was even able to request the type of hamon and finish of the blade and with all of this Jacky had quoted me sub $300 for the sword (+ shipping). I was actually quite surprised and pleased with Jacky's reply and should take a couple weeks to make. I've been able to look at some fittings and ito for a possible re-wrap in the future and I'll make sure to post pictures of the sword regardless of how impressive or unimpressive it is when it arrives.

Huawei really seems to have stepped up their game since the swords I reviewed so long ago. Back then their offerings were very basic... even more affordable then now, true, but very, VERY simple and limited. Now they seem to be offering a lot of options and the quality looks better... and MANY forum members have order simi-custom swords from them and been very happy with them. I might have to give them a second chance one of these days.

Definitely. I'm very anxious to see on how well they do on the hamon.. I gave them the picture below as reference and made a choice.
