Welcome, JS. To post pics here they first have to be downloaded to a photo hosting site such as Photobucket and then linked here. Picture posting is discussed in a little more detail here.

there is no need to use a hosting site, you can load pictures directly from your computer
look to the bottom of the screen, under the "save" " preview" "submit" buttons next to "options" you will see "upload attachment" hit that button below it will appear a button marked "browse" (with "add the file" next to it) hit "browse" next your pictures will pop up, double click on the one you want and hit the "add the file" button next to "browse" repeat for all the pic's you want to add (note it may take a while for the pic's to up load so just be patient)

Here is the saber I need to ID. The photos show the overall sword both sides of the grip and the etching on the blade. Can anyone help ID this for me??

No kidding. jscoby, FYI, Dave Kelly is more or less our resident expert on military swords... he can probably give you more information than you ever wanted to know about all these swords!
The help I can give you, personally, is mainly limited to commenting that the first one looks pretty familiar but I'm darned if I could put a name or a year to it, and the second one looks like some form of training/fencing weapon, given the button (the duct-tape-covered bit) on the tip...

Thanks how do I get a hold of Dave Kelly?? The tape on the second one was just to cover the tip with no sheath

You can PM him, or post these pictures in General Discussions, "Renaissance and Military Weapons".

The first is an 1826 Bavarian Light Cav Officers Saber. Little the worse for ware, but if the components are sound it is a good value piece ( $600-800 ish )
2d I haven't quite found a fit. Hilt is distinctive, but I haven't found a match. Guess is that its a later 19th Century NCO infantry sword for Austrian or one of the other German states besides Prussia. ( And doesn't match Britain. )
You might try Sword Forum International and see if someone there can help you with the 2d.
Cheers
