Hello,
I've already made a couple of posts with my questions. Part of me feels like I should have come here first. Oh well, it's not a big deal, right? :geek:
I've always been into swords but just recently started trying to teach myself more about them. Just before I moved, a friend showed me the basic cutting principles for tameshigiri. I had a lot of fun with it. I'm also a film student and I'm into stage combat. I'm not much of an anime fan but I like anime swords. Particularly "Samurai Champloo" and "Bleach" swords. I'm just getting my sword collection started. I've got a 62 inch Tensa Zangetsu for display and a 1095 Carbon Steel Ninjato.
I have a lot of questions and they're all about a different sword or different aspect of sword owning. I've been on a few other forums before. Typically I've gotten some expert-level answers that after I finally was able to denotate them, were somewhat to the effect of "Figure it out yourself." As the pilot said to the engineer of the manure-powered helicopter; this crap won't fly  Seriously I'm just getting started and I'm a total novice. I've been trying to self learn through research and things of that nature. But I feel I'm still at the stage of "he knows just enough to be dangerous." I've browsed around here a little bit before my account was activated. You all seem very friendly and down to Earth. I look forward to conversing with you and I hope you can help me not to waste my money

Welcome! Trust me, pretty much any and all questions are welcome here, and there are plenty of friendly folks willing to help out in any way they can for fellow sword enthusiasts. Whether you're into backyard cutting, stage combat, or generally just collecting, there's knowledgeable folks here.
Also, if you're a guy who's into stage combat, may I suggest taking a gander at Baltimore Knife and Sword. They make some genuinely sick stuff. And by sick, I mean jaw-dropping, saliva inducing, amazing.

Thanks for the tip, Bryn. I'll check them out. I've mainly been looking into Stage Steel which is kind of ugly so I do keep my eye open for alternatives.
