This another machete I've had for a long time it's service me well. If I remember right it didn't come with as good as edge as I like. Also the edge is off center, still is it woild take off metal than I want to to center the edge. Even with the off center edge it has been a good cutter. You can see I have use it alot. The machete has a black coating to help protect it from rust. This is not really a Kukri style blade, it is to straight a long the spine. It is more of a full belly machete. Agian Cold Steel uses 1050 steel ,I wish they would use 1070. The 1050 has held up to heavy use with the utility egde I use on my machetes.
The grip is polypropylene the same as Cold Steel uses on thier small kukri machete. Like there smaller machete it wears blisters on the base of my thumb. I have used camo utiliy cord I got from Wal Mart to stop this problem. The grip has a landyard hole at the end of the grip.
The machete come with a lightweight nylon sheath. It is very floppy making resheathing hard to do. Guess it's better than no sheath at all.
Even with the utility egde I have on my machete it cuts heavy plastic deregent bottle well
Now to the heavy cutting of pecan hardwood sapping the fist one was 1 1/4in dia the machete had no problem cutting through it
The second pecan sapping was 2 1/2in dia took two good heavy cuts to get it down
This is a farily good machete I have used it a lot but now a days I have got better machetes to do clearing work with. I do wish Cold Steel had of stayed closer to the kukri blade if they had of it would probably of been a better cutter.
