Any leads on a good sub $100 tanto? My only real demand is that it is a traditional Japanese style. I know Cold Steel makes a good tactical tanto, for example, but that is not the style I am looking for. I've looked at Swordnarmory and Handmadesword, both have some nice ones, but is there anything else out there I should look for? Thanks.

I believe Musashi makes tantos. I only own their swords, but if the quality the same it ought to be a decent buy.

Musashi makes tanto for less than $100. Aside from them - I don't know.

There are a couple on Kult Of Athena, but I have gotten three from them, and you get what you pay for.....

Kris Cutlery is pretty well thought of around here; they sell a Tanto HZ for $95. With shipping though you're probably looking at over that by 20-30 dollars.
Kult of Athena finds-- Cold Steel Kwaiken $90, Hanwei Practical $70, Musashi Asuka $70, Ryumon $54 and change.
Hope that helps...

Did you see this? www.swordsoftheeast.com/musashij ... oblue.aspx This tanto was on sale, but is was a 'necro' thread to begin with, I admit. The price can have appreciated. (This was a test for me to be able to post 'Web addresses with this software that's new to me. I do get a predictable response on the "Preview" screen.) --Lee
