Hello, all! What a thrill it was to find this forum and the wealth of information it contains! I look forward to amassing a LOT of knowledge about this hobby, and hopefully, making a few well-informed purchases. First, a little history! My name is David Simmons and I'm a 41 year-old video store manager in the SF East Bay. Until very recently, I'd been a longtime Lego hobbyist. Even then, I had a sword bent (nyuknyuk) and even built my own out of Lego bricks! Recently, I decided to move on from Lego and dove into the world of custom lightsabers! Long story short, it's my new thang. BUT, it got me thinkin' about the real thing. I remembered several movie props that I'd lusted after in my youth, and after finding this site, discovered to my great joy that many of them were still available! Sooo, in the next few days I'll be posting in the correct forums specific questions on the following items: Predator machete Green Destiny Anduril Ranger Generation 2 Excalibur I've been doing quite a bit of reading here about the last four items. I'm a little heartbroken that the Gen 2 Excalibur is out of production, but hopefully patience may reward me as long as I haunt the classifieds! Since I'm an 80's child, has anyone here seen "The Sword and The Sorcerer?" Now THERE'S a replica I'd like to see somebody tackle! It's pretty ludicrous, but would make for a fun conversation piece! Dave S.

Hey David. Nice to have you in the neighbourhood. Yeah,it's a bit sad when any sword goes out of production, but I wonder if you've taken a look at this one: www.kultofathena.com/product.asp ... +Sharpened Anyhow, it's good to see you're a realist. You're already posting your wish list in groups of five. I feel bad for those new forum members who talk about getting just one sword. Denial ain't just de river in Egypt.

Hey, Dodger!
I hadn't seen KoA's version, but historical accuracy is not a big deal for me. I'm VERY partial to the Gen 2 version because it looks the most faithful to the movie prop, but there ain't no freakin' way I could see my way to squeezin' out 2K for the Albion Discerner!
Thanks for the link! I'll be making my purchases slowly and carefully, but "They will be mine. Oh yes, they will be mine!"

Awesome opening post! Karma for the lego sword too! That is one of the best SLO's (sword like object) I've seen in a long time.
You should have Brenno/Fable Blades make it in steel for you.

That lego sword is fantastic! And yeah, I'm glad to see you're planning on a few - they are just as addicting as tattoos!

I just ordered my copy (out of print!) and it's on its way to me now! Can't wait to watch Lee Horsley and Richard Moll ham it up! Classic 80's medieval cheese, oh so gooey and delicious! Still, pretty good effects work for a B movie as I recall!

Bloody philistine, indeed! The poor soul would probably turn up his nose at such Kraft Klassics as the Deathstalker series and "Warrior Queen!" However, I think my sweetie will get a kick out of "The Sword and The Sorcerer!" She has fine taste in such tantalizing trash, just like me! Is your forum name inspired from the film? Dave S.
