Recently Julie and I took a road trip to Springfield, MO. a nearby large city, 2hrs. away. Large city means malls, doctor for Julie not serious routine, Bass pro for me. Julies appointment was late in the afternoon so we arrived early so she could shop till I drop. Little conversation is needed," Honey that looks beautiful" as she emerges from the dressing room. I realize that will not stop her from trying on the rest of the pile. Repeat above comment.
Back in the truck, "Where to next"" you have the list"" oh, basspro".
Julies niece gives me bass pro gift cards for all major events, I had two. One was commited to new spring walkers, julie was gifting me with shirts," remember I need work shirts" they never look like work shirts. So I am off to their knife shop, card in hand. Which in S'field is a hut like structure filled with sharpies of every make, size. category. A check of my wish list indicated that I could ex off several items and bust the budget or get a couple and have some left for complusion, see how the mind works. I tell myself I have a list so it is not complusive buying, only the complusive one is complusive, mental .........
The below are my sharps acquistions, planned and complusive, okay they were all complusive. Gift cards equals free, kid in candy store.
The first two were on the list as I wanted to compare the KISS to the SS1, and a reasonable folder to a more expensive one. More latter.
This next was pure complusion as I have read a thread recently about machetes and did not see one like this. But that wierd a.. camp cleaver by Marbles must have stimulated some inner thoughts about different and how this was not costing anything to try, more mental m...........
The below is the Gerber parang, it comes with a very nice sheath, lanyard, priorities of survival pocket guide. More in a review.
Below are the folders open with worthless green stuff for comparison.
The first is the CRKT kiss
Next is the CRKT M16 01z, at first closing this is the only problem, and maybe just for me as I handed the neighbors kid the knife he opened and closed it with out any hesitation.
The down side was having to wait until I got home almost five hours latter to open and play. Julie wanted me to drive as she was tired from shopping, the doctors office is no place to play with a machete, I had considered it, dinner no good either. So I waited until I arrived home. I am glad these are once a month things, but really fun.
All for around 120usd in gift cards.
