No, no one is perfect, I have creaky knees that hurt a lot, and although fit as I have ever been and look it the creaky knees and other more minor things from so many years practicing the sword make me feel a lot older then I really am at times. I feel far from perfect somtimes.

to bring us back to the topic of bokken... heres a that my instructor has bought from and absolutely loves, i cannot vouch for their Oriental stuff but their western singlesticks are great woodenswords.com/

Hmm, I know this site, I have heard rather mixed reviews, and my only experience was breaking one of their Hickory bokkens with an 8 dollar red oak I had at the time. Might have just been a bad cut of wood, but for that kind of money, they should have a better eye to screen out bad pieces of wood I would think.

Well they use all the same wood, whether it be eastern or western shaped, and I never said the person whos waster I broke was using an eastern one Just do some research is all, a lot of mixed reviews, and their wasters are not cheap at all.
