Can anyone recommend a decent Han style sword that can cut well and won't break?

there is no such thing as a sword that wont break.... so i assume that you are reffering to a Han that is a real sword and not SLO. any sword will break when used in wrong way, and accidents do happen.
most of the Han swords out there are sword like objects with welded rat tail tangs that will snap off when you look at them wrong. there are a few, that are well made, but hard to find. i would have to say that if you want a Han that is well made check with Garrett Chan of Jin-Shi as he probably makes the best out there. he is also a forum member here and another forum member here that owns one from jin-shi is sword sage. i have a production jian from garrett and can easily say that it is a danged good jian and has put up with way too much abuse. also pm these two guys and find out what you want to know.

SwordnArmory also has a few Han jian in their Munetoshi line, but I have no clue as to their quality. Probably good, if the track record of Munetoshi is any indication, however! -Slayer

yeah, Munetoshi's HanWu sword is said to be made of T-10 steel. Kinda looks interesting...

sinosword has some that also look decent, btw. And they offer customization on theirs too. You could probably go fully custom, tbh. I have no idea how they function there.

Sonny from Valiant Armoury has a number of old Han Jian, but my understanding is that they're honestly little better than SLO's-- they're from old stock from before his ownership of the company. He's selling them for an excellent price, though, if he's still selling them anyway-- ~60, I believe. Makes for a nice wall-hanger, and if you epoxy and pin the tang it just might be functional enough to swat a few bottles.
