Recently, I bought a H/T Viking sword from Frank, at a surprisingly good price. He had carefully explained the flaws with the sword in his listing (loose guard, dull blade). I paid last Tuesday (IIRC), he asked if shipping on Friday would be okay, I said yes, he PM'd me to say it had shipped Friday afternoon, and it arrived yesterday.
Packing was not only superb, but the best I've seen. The sword was TRIPLE-BOXED, with lots of padding, plastic wrapping, and there were even a few of those things that absorb moisture thrown in there. The blade was heavily oiled but not annoyingly so. A+++
At any rate, after around 4 hours of work --1 spent stuffing epoxy into the guard-blade gap to fix the looseness, 1 spent fixing various other small issues and cleaning the blade, and the other 2 spent sharpening the blade with 320 grit sandpaper--, I have a fantastic sword that I would be absolutely pleased with at twice the price I paid for it. Not to mention that shipping was free!
Overall, I have to say... this has to be the most sword for the money I've ever gotten in a purchase, and it was also the easiest transaction I've had.
FranktheBunny is one awesome guy, and after how well this went, I'd be MORE likely to buy a sword just because he was selling it, simply because I know it'd be a great transaction with no hassles.
If you get a chance to buy from Frank, I highly reccomend him; if your experience is anything like mine was, you'll get a great deal and great service, and the sword will be packed to survive the inevitable Zombie Apocolypse. (Which, coincidentally, I am now prepared for, as I finally have an Oakeshott type X zombie-beheading aparatus. )
+2 to Frank, thanks a lot!
Sincerely,
-Slayer
