Hi guys, so, I realize this is not strictly about swords, but I think it's relevant, in a way.
I am hoping that there are some Roman reenactors in the crowd, because I have been looking for a while for a reenactment quality toga (and tunic) out there, but there is absolutely nothing other than cheap, inaccurate, sucky Halloween costumes out there. Is there any site that sells togas? I need quite a few, since this will be for a group of people and it would be awesome if they had women's ancient clothes too. If anyone knows a site that sells such valuable possessions, please respond or send me a message ASAP.
Thanks, and sorry again for misplacing the thread somehow, I haven't been here for the longest time ever :oops: and now I don't know how to use the forums anymore.

thanks for the link, but they have everything else except for tunics and togas, the link you posted is for a military-style tunic, the day-to-day ones are usually just white and a little longer. The "togas" they have there are, somehow, for women, though only Roman males could wear togas (go figure...). Nonetheless, thanks for the link

Why not make one yourself? A toga, at least, was just a big ol' half-circle of heavy wool or linen, IIRC, and tunics aren't particularly complicated. Shouldn't cost more to make these than it is to purchase online and ship; the only hitches I see are if either you aren't particularly skilled as a tailor (no shame in that, I'm not either) or you can't find the appropriate cloth.

there's the tailoring thing, but I'll also need about 20 of them, so it would be rather tedious that way, though that's what's probably going to end up happening (this is for a classics club, so I'll probably tell one of the girls to craft them if nothing else works) but I'd rather just be able to buy them.

Well let's see, if accuracy isn't a big concern... Walmart, bedsheets, $10 each. I'm just kidding, you said 'classics club' so I'm guessing that accuracy is at least a moderate concern... So, your local cloth store. White cloth, from .99-5.99 a yard. How many yards does a toga need? *googlify* blammo! www.howtomakeatoga.info/ Bit of a tongue in cheek site, he does say that his intention is to have fun, not necessarily be authentic, but hey, the pictures look pretty decent... He recommends five yards. Let's say your cloth is $3 a yard (this is middlingly high end), so that's $15 a piece per toga. For 20 people, that's $300. Not that high; just get everybody to pass the hat and throw in an extra five each for snacks. Easy-peasy!

hmm well the only authentic one's I know of are from Armamentaria. www.armamentaria.com/store/inde ... cts_id=559 They look great and are actually made of wool instead of cotton like most on the market.

Dear Mr. George 300 ;
Have you tried Blutarsky's Traditional Togas ?
Respectfully;
