What are the main differences between the Valiant Armoury Kriegschwert and the Valiant Armoury Practical Longsword, Besides price and fittings? Thanks

The blade, mainly. There was a similar discussion about the PL and the Templar. If I remember right, the blade of the Kriegschwert is a wider blade that's more cutting oriented while the PL is a more all-rounder. I'll see if I can find the thread for you. it says at the sbg sword store that the Practical LS and the kriegschwert have the same exact blade. Or did they change that?

Look at the specs on KOA. The former is substantially heavier than the later. I've asked exact same question before on this forum. Many knowledgeable forumites told me that they are very different blades.

Yes... I own a PL, and have (briefly) handled a Kreig... the Kreig is certainly more of a warsword, a bit stiffer (IIRC) and a lot more cut-oriented. However, It also felt better in my hands, like the overall feel of the sword allowed it to handle better despite the added weight. I'm not sure why, but I prefer what I recall of the Kreig's handling, even though I love my PL. And that was the 1st Gen Kreig, the current ones are even a bit better, according to Sonny. Both are fantastic blades, however. HTH, -Slayer

IIRC, the practical longsword is based on the Atrim 1415 and the Kriegshwert's blade is based on the AT 1313. Both are longswords of type XIIa and have very similar blade profiles. The 1313 is slightly wider but they are pretty much the same length. Handling-wise they will be different, even if the furniture were the same or similar, and especially with different furniture.
Hope that helps, Alan
