Hey everybody. I have narrowed my next conquest down to a Munetoshi. I was wondering what the difference was between the Take and the Matsu T10 swords. The Matsu is $30 more, so I was wondering if there was a difference in the blades. The Take proclaims medium niku, while the Matsu has light niku, but again the Take is thirty bucks cheaper. They're similarly proportioned swords with some key differences. The Take features a solid body blade, weighing in at 2.5 lbs. The tsuka ito and sageo are made of cotton.

The Matsu's blade has a bo-hi, bringing down the weight to only 2 lbs. Ito and sageo are made of synthetic fiber.

So, besides aesthetic preferences, the question is... do you want more cutting power or more speed?

Thanks for the reply. If it's still on sale when I get paid, I'm going with the T10 Light Cutter. It seems to skate between the other two as far as weight and I like the double ring tsuba. It also comes with all the good extras the Matsu comes with. If not, I'll likely get the Take.
