I just received my VA Bristol today, ordered directly from Sonny. Now, I can see the clear difference between Hanwei fit and finish and VA Signature Series. The leather work on the Bristol is gorgeous. VA has a new frequent customer.

Ya the difference is night and day between the Hanwei Tinkers leather work and Sonny's work. Did you love that strong leather smell as you opened the package?

Be careful Student, pretty soon you'll have to change your avatar picture. I've always admired the stuff that Sonny puts out, and part of me is holding off because I've somehow convinced myself that if I mess up enough scabbards, that I could do something similar. But in all fairness, Hanwei's leather work is done to make a decent looking product without a lot of man hours.

yes your right greg, I'm not knocking Hanwei (hell I just bought 2!) They do a great job for what you pay for, as does Sonny. I just prefer the customization of VA and all the pretty colors

I bought 4 Hanwei Tinker: Norman, EMSHS, Bastard, and Longsword. All of them going to Sonny for make-over.

When you have no spouse to tell you "no," you can drop all the coins you have. Spouse sure get in the way of sword collecting. Anyway, other than buying swords, I don't spend much on anything else. I even drive an economy car. I have very few electronics; I don't even have a TV or VCR.

V C R? What is this you speak of? Recently since work took off, and my wife got a new job with full time hours and over time hours we've upgraded our living conditions. Instead of sappy gifts to each other for birthdays, V-day, and Christmas, we just give the "family" something. This Christmas I got us a new HDTV (60 glorious inches!) and TV Stand. Last year we got a PS3 (if your not a gamer but want a Blu ray player, I Highly recommend a PS3 it does everything you need plus more!), new bed frame to come soon. I just need a couch next! (dam all cats who rip couches apart........) Other then that we just get our collectibles. Wifey goes for Harry Potter paraphernalia and books, me Archery and Swords! Btw Student, did you have anything special done to the Bristol (different colors or belt style)? Show us a pic!

I dunno...the sword I sent you is perfect, Cory. The color scheme that slayer has chosen is fantastic. The leatherworking smell just never leaves. Keep the cats away from it SoS...4 at a time? Oh man -> musta been you who crashed the CSS  Hopefully , Sonny makes a typo on that last letter of your name SoS

Yes I believe you, just not in my hands yet to fully appreciate, even the pictures I copied aren't doing it anymore, I can hardly tell that the scabbard is blue... DAM YOU POSTAL SYSTEMS!!! WORK FASTER!!!
The cat has started to learn "If I destroy stuff, daddy yells and sprays water at me, then I get locked in the bathroom for a night with only my pooping box food and water..."

I got a virus that triggered immediately when I entered the CSS forums earlier this afternoon. It started running some sort of encrypt down the top of the CSS forum page. I had to delete my windows account that I was on. It shut down every program I had running.
IT WASN"T MY FAULT!!!
I hope Sonny's computer made it through.
I was very sad to give up the Bristol Cory...but I had a feeling Sonny's new work was gonna get to me.

Dude, since we are both customers of Sonny; you know that thing can go both ways as well. I might end up with your sword instead. Cory: I ordered the standard color. I like conservative color so it fits me well.

Yeah I love my Bristol. It's the best work of art you can own. I mean it looks awesome on the wall like any art work, but I can also play with it. Now all you need to do with all your swords SOS, is cut with them

I own the Kriegschwert and the Warder and I have had 2 scabbards made by Sonny and the CSS. The leather work on the swords and scabbards is wonderful (as are the swords themselves). The scabbard for my SBG straight blade is jaw-droppingly amazing. I had a plain scabbard made for my AT1557 and even that is way above average. I have another sword that will soon be in the CSS for a scabbard. Sonny's work is outstanding and his prices are more than reasonable...maybe too reasonable I can't recommend Valiant Armoury, Sonny Suttles or the CSS any higher.

Too reasonable indeed. I just received my H/T Norman customized by Sonny. For $250, it worth every single cent and much more. I am definitely sending more leather works to Sonny.
The Clermont arrived as well. One fine sword, my fist Type XVIII (I think?). Gus sword is very reasonably price for the quality. Adding to Sonny works, I am definitely getting my money worth.

Aaaahhh yeah... that sword Cory... remember to sell it to me when you'll be done with it I'll have to get my first VA soon, the problem is that i really like all the nice stuff they put on their swords, fittings, leatherwork etc, but the blades themselves dont speak to me as much. And going for an Atrim blade drives up the cost so much ( cause you want a scabbard also ! ) that it leaves me between two chairs ( its a french expression.. i dont know if it makes any sense in english, but you get the picture i guess ) Hey Chris, have you ever considered putting your collection in the members collection section ? I would love to see all your stuff.
