Here's a video review:
Good review, good guy, don't know if he's still around here though. I know he was active on the old forum around '09, but I don't think I saw much of him after he posted this review. Certainly wish I had a job I could do sword reviews at!

i have a jin-shi production model jian (they dont do production models any more) and it has to be the best i have bought bar none. i hd to make no modification, no repairs. with my hanwei rodell jian i was concerned about the construction with the inset pommel nut. the jin-shi was safe right out of the box, unless you touch the edge and then cut issues would be a concern since it was so danged sharp. i have used it and abused it, and only after too much abuse did i have a set. way too much abuse. hit a 2x6 full speed showin off... like a numbskull. wasnt aiming for it tho, foot slipped and caused bad form.
long story short, you cant go wrong with jin-shi stuff. and he backs his product.

hehe, that's my review. I'm still around, and pop in every now and then to see how things are going, and what new topics are up. But to get back on topic, yes, this sword is worth the money. I'm still using mine, and it's still holding up pretty well, cutting as good as it did when I first got it, and with all the fittings still on nice and tight. I still say Jin-shi swords are just about the best you can get your hands on when it comes to price vs quality. I have yet to find any other companies coming close with what you get for the price range. As an aside, I've actually figured out how the handle wrapping was done, so while it will be a bit tedious to completely dismantle the blade for full maintenance, it can be done, and I'll probably do that once a year, along with general maintenance (oiling the blade).
