Hello All, First of all, I have been trolling these forums for a long time and would like to thank everyone for their help and knowledge. So, as the title stated, I am looking for the most durable 18th century sword sub-$400. I own a Hanwei Dadao and it has been through every form of abuse and stood the test of time for almost 10 years. The only annoyance I have with it is the now loose guard. More of an annoyance than a saftey issue. This turned me to the Hanwei Revolutionary War Hanger, seen here kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=SH2375If the blade is anything like that of my Dadao, I would be very happy with it. Also, I am considering the CS 1796 Light Calvary Saber. CS has a reputation for making strong beaters, and I am in need of something that could take a beating. I have also been toying with the idea of buying this Dussage Cutlass, seen here www.knightsedge.com/p-284-dusagge-cutlass.aspx I have not seen a review of it and would like to know if it was worth buying. The cutlass and sabers from www.baltimoreknife.com/ have also caught my attention. I have seen them listed on KoA as Stage Steel, meaning that they are not sharp. However I would like to know if I put an edge on one, if it would stand up against the rigors of weekly use. Thanks again for the years of knowledge passed on through the forums.
