Mushi-mushi, I am a new member here on the forums and am just getting back into collecting swords. I stopped collecting swords in high school because, they were cheap pieces of junk that seem like they were made in a sweat shop(it doesn't help when youu buy them for $20 and expect them to function) and plus I thought it was childish :geek: ... TIME TO BE A KID AGAIN! I just got done investing in the firearms I wanted so now I'm going back to blades. This time, now that I have cash flow that's worth a crap, I'll be investing in blades of a higher caliber. Cheness and Hanwei are the two I've got my eyes on primarily. Anyways, I'm from Cookeville, TN and ride a 2006 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, hence my topic name(Squid is sport bike rider lingo for 'squirrely new kid').

I hear the Toys R' Us song in the back of my head... Good stuff starting up again- are you going all katana or will you turn to the Euro side? Do it...

Welcome to the forum.
As for katana: you've picked good starter brands; good luck with your first purchase.

Great, now that you've said that I do too. I dunno, it depends on if something strikes my fancy. It would have to be one bad @$$ sword for me to want it. Probably a Germanic long sword not for fun factor but more of cultural heritage.

Thanks man, I appreciate the warm welcome. I'm probably gonna go with the Cheness 9260 Kaze. I want one with a natural Hamon and the only thing that I don't like about that blade is the Tsuba it has from the smith, I'll probably remove and do one of two things, sand it and repaint it with a antique bronzing paint or replace the Tsuba all together.

Greetings Wolf, welcome! I did move you're thread to the "welcome wagon" board we have here, I hope you don't mind. Good luck on your next sword, I'm not much on Katana so I'll leave that to the better informed Glad you made your way here, and don't hesitate to ask, this forum is a fount of friendly knowledge!
