I am thinking about getting a Hero's Warsword (501228) made by Windlass Steelcraft. It is a huge sword that appeals to to me. I haven't been able find any reviews on it. I have read some reviews of other long Windlass Steelcraft swords being whippy, and I wonder if this one is that way. In a sword like this I want something damn near indestructible, even if I never hit anything with it. I was also looking at the English Two Hand Sword (501060) and would like any reviews on that too. Hopefully one of these will be my third battle ready sword. I have had several wall hangers and one UGLY, asian type, full tang, sharp sword I could hit things with and not break it. My second should be delivered on the 5th, a Hanwei Mercenary sword. Thanks for any advice you can give.

I have the English Two Hander. It is very whippy and I would not advise buying one. Don't know about the Hero's.

If the sword of Pavia is of any indication (it might be, as both showed up as new MRL swords at the same time), I would suggest against it. forums.swordforum.com/showpost.p ... ostcount=4 In that post, they discuss the Pavia and show pictures. I think SFI is down for tonight though, but do check it out tomorrow, and you'll see what I mean,

The link is still down, but if that's the one that shows a pic of the half tang with the welded rat tail for the other half, I saw it while searching for the Hero. It made me more skeptical, but it doesn't say for sure if the Hero is like that. If so, it's not what I want. It sounds like it's probably not anyway. I would still like to know from someone who has one or has at least held and swung one. I mostly want a huge sword to swing around and exercise with, but if it won't stand up to cutting and some beating, it probably won't be worth it to me.
Any suggestions for another sword in the range of the English two hander and up?

Maybe Hanwei Lowlander or Claymore?

Good call on the Lowlander! Thank you, I like that one a lot. It's even longer than the Hero. It is lighter as well, which may or may not be right for what I want.
I just received the Hanwei Mercenary sword today. It's fast and light compared to the display Excalibur display sword I've been swinging around. I love the feel of this sword but want something much heavier for exercises.
The Hanwei Lowlander 2H, or the Hero's Warsword are at the top of my list for now. Anyone that has one, please chime in.

Windlass does seem to be making a few "higher quality" models with thicker, peened tangs..I've never handled them but judging from the one windlass blade I do have(lakonian, since been cannibalized for a future project) the only complaint i have is the hilt construction, a rather thin tang on a threaded assembly. but it seems they have fixed this with a few models, adding a beefy, peened assembly..and to me it looks like the hero's sword is one of them..i for one couldn't imagine why they'd go through all the trouble of hand peening all those tangs if the tangs were all welded on, it would be horrible for a company's reputation..although i suppose stranger things have happened in the sword industry.
