Hello all, I'm thinking of making my first sword purchase: sbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-gui ... ct156.html The look, colouring of ito/same is exactly what I'd been picturing when I started searching and the price seems pretty good. What does everyone think about the sword quality etc.? All opinions and advice are welcome.

I dont know much about the sword itself but if Paul put it in the SBG sword store then it must be really good. Paul does not sell crap.

I have the same sword but with white same. Good and solid sword. I recommend it for a starter sword.

well the dojo pro line is fantastic so this should be at least pretty good. I don't like the style but if you do then there's no reason I can think of not to get it.

Ive heard good things about the ronin sword's, so from what Ive heard, their stuff is pretty good. I do agree with TomK ( HI TOM.....you probably dont remember me but we use to talk on youtube alot ^_^) But if the sword is what your looking for and it appeals to you, then it has chosen its swordsman.

hey guys- do you think the price is good? What would it cost to get some other comparable blade and have it redone with red same/black ito?

Well I think its as comparable to the Munetoshi blades. So to redo the tsuka to red samegawa and ito can cost about $40. Cause you'll have to buy new ito...which if you go with silk its $35 for 14 feet of it..if you want cotton it would cost $21...and Chemical Fiber would cost $12.60. Leather is very pricey but its about $70. Suede leather if you can find black suede is the same as leather. I myself think that Cotton or silk is a good choice, but if you dont want to spend alot chemical Fiber would be your best option.

I remember you Jeimuzu, and I agree that this is a good price for this sword. even cheap customization will cost nearly as much at this whole sword. so if you like the style I'd say go for it.

even after I abused it so much it was still a really good sword. the only reason I felt it didn't belong in my collection was because it wasn't really DH but it definitely had quality going on in the fittings and detailing that many more expensive swords lack.
unless you want to spend $600+ on a sword you don't have a chance to get some of the nice details these have and even then you sometimes don't get them.
