Congrats on the new sword Keltic. I got to see this one while it was being made and I wanted it myself. Nice blade.

It is a good looking sword, but the cross and cross part of the pommel seem too thick, I dunno. I do like the fact that the pommel is two parts though, yay for historical accuracy! Lol.
How's it handle? I'd love to see some test cuts with it, if you can.

good morro all to answer your questions on how long ago i placed the order late spring . asked matt to take his time on sword and a gave him a few ideas all in all this is him creation
handling ~ 1 word Amazing cutting ask matt ~ not to give it an sharp edge, but in sword fight i bet i could hurt someones feeling with it
Iv been fighting and sparing with B.K.S hand in a half long swords for about 6 years now 32,34,36 in blades the all performed flawlessly . I RECOMMEND b.k.s to any one who ejoys craftmenship ,quality, and people that really care for what they do ,true sword armourers in the craft of sword making

Looks like they did you a real decent job on that blade.
I'll agree that the base of the pommel looks a little too thick, it still does not detract from the over all aesthetic of the blade.
Overall, I would have to say that you have a blade that anyone would be proud to own. Distinctive and attractive.

Thanks for posting this Tim. I was honored to work on this sword. It turned out just right. I often end up going with the flow of the piece and the design often evolves into something a bit different then the original design. I have to say that I ended up creating the exact sword that popped into my mind after my first convo with keltic. About the pieces looking thick...I think that some popular modern makers have made their viking fittings to thin. I think that has given people a false idea of what a viking should look and feel like. This is what I feel it should be like on this piece. Remember there are tons of different styles.

The thickness of the base of the pommel would in no way stop me from owning it. Matter of fact, the more I look at it, the less it seems out of place. Great Job on that piece Matt.

Matt and Kerry, Give me a yell if you get the chance. I've been trying to get a hold of you guys for a bit about doing something with this 4 pound iron meteorite I have. In any case, merry X-mas and happy Yule to the SBG!! Keep your blades sharp and your targets chopped.
