Hello, I've been following this forum for a while and just registered. I've had a hobby that relates in a way, I guess... I make replicas *of* swords and knives, from wood mainly. It's been an ongoing hobby for maybe a few years now, though I made a number of similar items when I was younger to play with. I'm just not sure where I can post this kind of thing? I am also interested in selling these things; they're filling up the man cave, excuse me, house and the wife's getting a little tired of them... Here are some examples of what I'm talking about. Do forgive the somewhat cheesy poses in a few of these pictures, they're kind of old... about 4-5 years old, actually... but anyway, here goes. A spear based on Gil-galad's spear from the Fellowship of the Ring prologue, as depicted in the Arms and Armour of the LOTR movies book: A somewhat fantasy-styled dagger that was designed as an companion to a sword I'd done when I was a kid: And this dagger before I painted it: A basket-hilted broadsword, from when I was younger: Hope the idea comes across. Where do I post these? Is anybody interested, actually? Given that these are literally "sword-like objects", pieces of artwork in a sense rather than anything functional beyond play or display... In any case, thank whomever reads the above. I appreciate your input and hope to enjoy membership here! ~Jeffrey Faulk

First off, welcome to SBG, Jefferey! You could post a thread about these in one of two threads: the Member Design thread (to showcase the designs you've done) and/or the Classifieds, since you mentioned you would like to sell them.

Welcome to the forums! ^^ Wooden weapons are most certainly welcome here! If they are functional for sparring, you can post in the other weapons section or the training section. You can post any of them under sword repair and customization, since they are your home-made projects, or if they are based on fantasy blades, you can discuss them under fantasy, in general. Lastly, you can post them in the classifieds to sell, and best of luck to you! I see some talent here and hope you'll post more of your work in the future. -Midori.
