Hi all. Just stumbled upon a sword with an "integrated pommel". Is that a peened pommel or something else?

Generally it means that the pommel is either made from the same piece/blank of steel as the blade, from the other end of the hilt (Think "full tang" with an extension, and that extension is formed into a "pommel"), or that the pommel is one piece with the rest of the hilt (grip, guard, etc.); the latter seems to be the more common by my own googling...but if you could specify the piece in question, it'd be easier to tell.

Oh yeah, That, the Pommel/Hilt is forged as part of the blade, Don't know how it will hold up under stress, Kinda expensive to find out.....SanMarc.

Hmm. So you would basically be gripping the tang directly.
Thanks.
