Hello all, after seeing glaciersteel's review of the Gen 2 High Elven sword I was inspired to take some photos of the original version which I have. I would also like to make a small review at this time and make a better more comprehensive one later.
I both this sword almost 2 years ago now and at the time it was $190 which to me seems like a pretty good deal, the fit and finish is not as high as the Gen 2 version nore is the blade as good but it is still a goo sword that I enjoy using and to me feels very good in the hand, However since this is my first functional sword I really have no comparison at this time but I will be increasing my collection soon and so then I will be able to make a more accurate assessment of the sword.
I will start with the negative things to get them out of the way first.
Grip- The leather to me does not feel very high quality, not nearly as nice to touch as my leather jacket which is the only real comparison I have. The leather wrap is also not glued on so it slides down slightly, this is not good at all and I will be replacing it with new leather but using the same design.
Fuller- It is not arrow strait and is slightly wavy in some spots but I guess it gets the job done.
Tang- The tang is treaded which is was rather annoying as is kept coming loose but I fixed that by filling the handle with silicone cocking, if anyone else has a loose swords I advise they use this stuff as it keeps it together tightly and may provide some shock resistance.
The blade- Well not really the blade just the fact that it dies not come sharp and now I have to sharpen it myself.(If anyone can point me in the direction of a good guide it would be greatly appreciated ;D)
Now onto the good stuff pictures, but first I will ad in my likes of the sword.
Feel- The sword feels very good in the hands and is quite nimble for it's size, it has some weight and requires a strong arm to use it.
Look- This is in my opinion the best looking sword that you can buy in this price range and perhaps in any price range, the pieces just work so well together in my opinion.
The scabbard- With a wooden leather wrapped scabbard this sword looks good at your side or in your hands.
Pommel
Guard
Throat cap
End cap
Sword and scabbard
Blade
Conclusion
Overall this sword is a nice looking sword that you can hang on your wall and if sharpened will make an excellent light cutter.

Historical Accuracy: N/A (fantasy blade)
Fit and Finish: 3/5
