Okay, so this would only be a sword if I were 12" tall, but I thought some may find this interesting. A fella gave me a Case XX pocket knife he found on the side of the road a few years ago. As you can see, one scale is busted, and although you can't tell it, the other scale is badly cracked. The blades were badly rusted and this had been ran over on the road at some point; I could barely open the blades to inspect it. Normally I'd charge about $40-$50 for a restore like this, but I cut him a deal 'cause his daughter and mine are good friends. I replaced to old scales with new bone ones, and loosened up/polished up the blades. Here's some before and after shots. Before And here is the after. Sorry for the picture quality, I took these with my phone.

Wow a 4 bladed knife, you don't see those much anymore. Knives these days have all sorts of other gadgets and usually one so-so blade only.
Good job fixing this up and thanks for sharing.
Any reason you set the Case logo at an angle rather than the parallel to the handle it was originally?

The reason the logo is "wrapped" around is due to a request by the owner.

One of the reasons so many knife-manufacturers are producing single bladed knives with a few screwdrivers/files etc. is that in many places it's illegal to carry a knife on your person. It is not, however, illegal to carry a tool. If you get stopped with one, the correct answer is: This is a tool. I use it for ___________________.

@dodger - Yeah, it's kind of funny; when I was a kid, it was against the rules to carry a pocketknife to school, but the rule wasn't too terribly enforced. I started to carry mine in the 5th grade, and carried all through school. Never pulled it out unless a teacher asked "hey, anybody have a pocketknife" when they needed something cut. Now if you make a paper gun you get "written up" and punished. College kids can't even carry one, and as you said it's illegal all the way around in a lot of places now.
