I have the Kris Cutleries Roman Gladius and while it is a fine well made weapon, I find the point of balance is a bit far forward for my taste. Is there a practical way to adjust that? THe Pommel and handle seem quite solidly attached and I see no obvious way of sticking on a couple of washers or whatever. I don't know if there are people who do this sort of thing. -Rick

How thick is the blade? Perhaps some distal taper could be added.

That'd require a belt sander and sufficient skill not to screw up or money to pay someone to do it... I think making a new pommel would be easier. Any way to take of the pommel, drill a hole in it, fill that hole with a piece of metal and reattach it? Not easy either but hard to destroy the sword that way, worst case scenario is to have someone make a new (heavier pommel). Shouldn't be too expensive.

Thanks all. Interesting points. Sounds like I might want to try a Mainz pattern gladius.
