Took the time to visit my best friend and cut for two hours on a beautiful early autumn day after sleep next an oak and hickory fueled fire with a few cold ones to warm me up. Also I found the new site. Just wondering if anyone else has had a good day with a sword in hand. Please share.

Well, welcome to the new site, Pat, and that sounds like a great way to spend a weekend; no cutting (or swords, unfortunately) on my end. To bloody wet out.

Ah, Pat, glad you crossed over. I'm going to try a little cutting later. I need to attempt Blake's trick.

Been cutting again with a sub-$100 Bamboo that I sharped and re-polished with minor success. When cutting hard bottles and tatami my Bonsai Munetoshi waki is my favorite, but for paper free hanging in the kitchen is this light and fast blade. My all around (yes, a Cheness) is my mokko ko kat...it is a great beater.
I must say here my Ronin model #2 "torso cutter" was MY favorite but a long time friend talked me out of it. I do not mind because he loves it.
I have come to find there are very subtle differences in blade geometry that make certain swords better adapted for certain targets and cutting styles. I still have much to learn and it is fun.
