Hello people, I was just on the Cheness site and saw those rather enticing SGC models flashed once again before my eyes. www.chenessinc.com/sgc.htm I thought it strange that they have been out for a little while now, and noone from this forum has reviewed them yet ??(hint hint) I'm sure there must be someone, someone who has bought one of the two models they offer and isn't shy to tell us all what they think ?! Besides, they are only at our price range as a special offer .

Totally understand dude, I have neighbours of the freak-out variety as well. Must be a global thing . I do my tameshigiri after sunset before dark, when everybody is doing dinner,e.t.c or I have to go into the State forest, and then walk about 2 miles into the thick bush until I get to my clearing( it is illegal to do this on any public land with live blades, but wot they don't know can't hurt them ). Good luck djg, hope you can scrape it together !

I have been interested a ko-katana from Cheness for quite some time. I am torn between the SGC Yamakami Ko Katana and the Tenchi Ko Katana. I would like to get the SGC to be one of the first kids on the block to have one. ;D The only thing I don't care for is the tsuba design. Due to the tsuba's demensions, it would most likely not be easy to replace unless I were to custom make one myself... Hmmm... Just what I need, another project.
I was planning on using the funds from selling my Practical Pro Katana towards this purchase. We will have to wait and see though since my 23 year old geothermal heating/cooling system just went out in my house...

[I live very close to the Tonto National Forest so I could just do the same. Ah, my old "stomping grounds" as it were. We used to go shooting just north of Dynamite Road at the south end of Tonto, back in the days before there were subdivisions built there. Such fond memories...

I have been interested a ko-katana from Cheness for quite some time. I am torn between the SGC Yamakami Ko Katana and the Tenchi Ko Katana. I saw the Tenchi ko last week, and I really like the look of it. So I plan, in the near future, to order the brass musashi tsuba and fit it to the Shura ko I purchased last year. I am getting a bit tired of looking at the standard black koshirae on most sub $US300 katanas, especially the shura tsuba. I liked it at first, but now I think a bit of colour is called for !
