I was wondering about the same thing, plus the Dark Age is a very vague term and could include the complete medieval era as some consider it to be from the fall of the Roman Empire to the start of the Renaissance. So why two Ancient sub-forums? And please define what do you mean with Dark Ages?

Well the way I learned it the medieval period runs from roughly 500 to 1500, and could be split up into early, high and late. Then there is some overlap, as the renaissance didn't start everywhere at the same time and runs in to the 17th century. So basically I would call the Dark Age early medieval and would include it in the Medieval section.

Bart If you are still interested .. There were the Dark Ages, and there were the Middle Ages. Both made up the Medievil Period. A working method of remembering is that: Dark Ages - call it from the Romans to the Norman conquest of England. 1066 A.D. Middle Ages - call it from the Norman conquest to the Ranassance. In high school you probably studied "Canterbury Tales" written in Middle English. That was from these times.
Folks may argue what the dividing dates are, but as a rule of thumb these will do. I am confident that you will soon have specific dates.
Hope this is helpful.
