Very nice designs, John! My favorites are #3 in Row #1, #2 in Row #2, #1 in Row #3, #1 in Row #5 (I also like #4 in the same row), and #2 in Row #6 reminds me of a pseudo-renaissance 300 style Spartan sword.

A few of those designs would make some nice blades, good work.

Developing some of the designs in more detail. These ones aren't that fantastical, just a seax and scramasax with antler handles. These ones are a little more unique. I call them "leoform" blades. They're based on ancient Celtic swords, with the hilt representing a lion, and a machete-like, single edged blade. I think I'll work on some dragon wing swords next.

The (fictional) development of the dragon wing sword. It begins very much like a Greek kopis or celtic falcata. I was influenced by the swords from 300 as well. I'm very happy with the hilt of this stage, but the blade shape didn't come out like I pictured it in my head. Here, it becomes more falchion-like, with a more distinctive dragon wing shape to the blade. From there, it develops in two very different directions, on one hand becoming slimmer and longer and more saber-like, and on the other getting short and broad like a meat cleaver, similar to a Maciejowski chopper.

Those are actually very nice and attractive! The bigger one looks like a good all-in-one survival knife and the handle really fits in. The scabbard, in its detailed simplicity, wraps up the whole "wilderness theme", making it an excellent choice for the explorer of unknown worlds!

Thanks. That's pretty much what I was going for. They're supposed to be hunting weapons/tools. The antlers on the hilts and scabbard are trophies from previous hunts.

I like the second one on row 5. Also, the hilt of the third one of row 6, although I'd like to put the blade of #1, row 5 on it.

Okay, okay, so this one's not a sword, and it's not related to the other designs, but I wanted to show it. It's a friend's concept that I drew up for him. I call it The Orc Tenderizer.

New design, an elven rapier. The metal of the hilt would be textured like wood, with ruts running lengthwise, an effect I tried to get across in my drawing. Similarly, the leaves would have a veined texture.

That is gorgeous, John! I'm not a rapier fan (I just don't like the thin blades), but that is really good looking.
