I haven't seen much more info on some of the newer swords and their performance with the pell. I was hoping to see what some of the members have in regards to actual results, in particular the G2 line. Number of strikes before breaks, locations of breaks, various pell designs etc.

I'd contact tsafa on this if you want some real durability results on the pell. I can't think of anyone else who has been so abusive with their swords (in a good way, of course!) so I'd have to recommend him.

Arturo, did you see my tire-pell webpage. It has the relativly new G2 Black prince and Lucerne that were recently revised. Here is a direct link: mysite.verizon.net/tsafa1/swordreview.htmp.s. They usualy break in the tang.

Thanks Tsafa, great reviews, by any chance have you tried out the G2 roman gladius? I know Paul gave it a good review but I wanted to see if there was anything to look out for since I just got mine and i'm looking forward to making a pell.

Some excellent information tsafa. I have a Windlass sword of Chaos and have a similar problem with the flimsy handle wrap-and the tang feels like it might be a little on the wimpy side. I have not used it to cut anything or strike with, but have done various drills with it. the blade seems pretty stout and I think would stand up to abuse. I also have a Sword of Ibelin-which is a gorgeous weapon-but the blade seem awfully thin-but is well tempered. It rings like a bell and hums like a tuning fork-but my wife bought it for me and did not have it sharpened-and I am loathe to put an edge on it-but I would not mind taking all that lacquer off and sharpening it and putting it through the paces. But the wife would have a conniption so I'll stick to my Sword of Chaos and katana (the katana is plenty sharp) I know what you all are thinking-what kind of swordsman would let his wife tell him he can't sharpen his swords? Well-you don't have to share YOUR castle with her!! Besides that she worked a lot of OT to buy the sword for me, so I'll go with her wishes on that. One thing I have noticed about Windlass Swords-the point geometry is lopsided-the shoulder on one side of the point is longer than the other-which seems to throw the centerline off a bit. The fullers are straight though, so it's not readily noticible and should not affect the overall performance of the swords. It just looks kind of queer and seems to be an artifact of the manufacturing.
