I just finished my second scabbard last night. I didn't take pictures in progress this time because I pretty much followed the same course as my first one here: /index.cgi?board=swordcustom&action=display&thread=1193491896 I learned a lot from the first one, and this one came out much better. I also used walnut this time and left most of the wood exposed. One thing I did different was glued a piece of felt flat over the mouth this time and cut it to shape, instead of wrapping it over from the inside. After I glued the two halves, the first time I slid the sword in it forced a crack in the side. With the sword still in the scabbard, I filled the crack with wood glue and let it sit overnight. The result is a nice tight fit. I took the chape off of the scabbard that came with the sword, and shaped the tip of the wood to fit it. The left over leather and wire from the grip made a nice wrap for the throat, and covered up the glue filled crack in the throat I now have access to a table saw and a belt sander, so the next one will go much faster. When the SBG Atrims finally arrive I'll have one on hand for measurements, and could potentially make a custom scabbard for anyone who wants one. I've got 2 more to get started on for swords I own now, and If I can refine my skills enough I'll run it up the flagpole when the Atrims get here.

Thanks for the complements guys ;D
Xan I cut with this one often, I would call it a good cutter but my experience is very limited.
