I ordered the blade and pommel from Albion's moat sale. Just to pretty to pass up. The pommel looks like brass not bronze. Anybody worked with a bronze blade? I am thinking that the tang is to soft for a pommel. It bends pretty easy. I Did some polishing just to see the color and started grinding out the decorative channel. Some black enamel in the groove should go well with Ebony strips in the handle. Thoughts, comments ,Suggestions.

That is gonna be interesting, though I don't think the pommel really suits. Have you drawn a sketch of your plan for the grip and pommel? Will there be any guard?
Its a pretty blade.

I agree, pommel isn't gonna go on now that i have seen the pic. color and style dont match. No drawing yet. no guard, unless someone can think of a way to make a guard work.

Any body know how to tell copper from bronze from brass?I I got an email back from albion, they said this blade wes made by steelcraft in india. No stats are available on the alloy composition. short of taking it to a lab i don't now of a way to tell the differance. its not pure copper, the color is not red enough. But it is fairly soft. it is unsharpened so it may just become a wallhanger. i was kinda hoping to sharpen it to do a little test cutting. Any help?

Copper is most red, bronze is second most red, brass is most yellow/gold.
