I don't see what's not to like about the hilt. I think the whole thing is one of the best looking Viking styled swords I've ever seen.

Luka Congrats , I too like the piece as a whole and thinks its one nice looking sword ,granted Im normally a katana guy ,but I might just end up adding this one to my collection sometime . I received my first medievals today , A Bristol and Crusader . I love the Crusader ,but am disapointed with the Bristol .

If I had the money, I'd buy the Bristol off of you since I love the way that sword looks.

Well the chape fell right off when I picked the sword up ,Im sure I can fix this with some glue ,but still think its rather bad for it to have done that . Then Iv noticed that when doing some gentle swings with it (and iv cut nothing with it ) there is a clicking sound coming from the cross guard section , upon closer inspection it seems as though the blade is actually moving inside the cross guard section .Iv checked that the allen nut is tight and it is . To be honest the noise is pretty bad and thats on dry handling , so I dont think Ill cut anything with it . The crusader was the total opposite , very well put together everything nice and tight ,love this sword .

Well, I'm just not a fan of Petersen type L guard (which this sword is). And I would like it to be a historical two piece construction (more accurate for 9th century anyway, later examples might be one piece).
