Personally, I try to refrain from posting any comments on youtube, especially if I disapprove of the video in some manner. So, yeah, I second Avery's post. I'd say more, but I'd probably come across a bit more heavy-handed and a little mean, so I'll shut up now.
Oh, and what Dave said above me too.

Dang and I don't cut if my hip or knee are acting up cause I could lose my footing. But in my defense I found SBG before I ever got a sword.
The girl holding, yeah that's scary, but the two guys cutting face to face........ shudder.

I decided it would be best to send them a PM, because I would then have an unlimited amount of space to work with and it would not be available for public scrutiny. I enclosed some helpful links to them as well. If anybody wants to read the PM, I'll PM it to you, but I'd rather not post it openly if there's a chance they may join the forum. I was polite and tried to be helpful. I hope other SBGers will follow my lead if they decide to post a comment.
And thanks for the karma, dude! ^_^

Very scary. The cutting head on, cutting stuff out of the girls hand, cutting around the cat, cutting with all that stuff underfoot, doing draw cuts with obvously no training... all dangerous, all bad. Good luck Jenn in your atempt to speak with them... hopefuly they will listen. Someone is going to get hurt if they don't.

You know honestly I really like the reaction of SBG as a whole. I see a bunch of people wanting to reach out seeing this and help educate and inform. People wanting to help these people get better and safe. Really it is heart warming to see such a reaction here. It is moments like this SBG really does live up to being the friendliest sword forum. Good job all of you ;D
BTW I was agreeing with Avery and pointing out Midori had mentioned it also, since she had done such a great eloquent job of saying be polite when correcting someone's mistakes. Sorry if my comment was misunderstood.

Sorry if my comment was misunderstood. I don't believe you were misunderstood, sometimes the web gets in the way of expression. I took your post for what you meant it to be, and you were correct in that. Midori not only pointed out that we shouldn't condescend, she went the extra step to extend a hand in friendship. I think what the others were trying to say is that I was directing my post towards the comments made by members here on that youtube thread, but I won't put words in their mouths. shadowhowler - The drawing from the saya was especially worrying. I seem to remember an incident where the saya was eventually cut through and caused a nasty cut from the same behavior.....except that fella practiced in a safer manner. I hope that the folks in that vid will accecpt Jenns invitation and join us. But I assure all of you they will not do so if they are called "dumb". I'm dumb as hell and would rather not be called dumb....or stupid.....or a semprini.....or moron..... Ignorant I can see, because I do ingnore certain things while doing other certain things.....

Avery, you're not ignorant, you're just old enough to know better and still too young to care! ;D
It's not that big a deal, guys. I actually had my sister read it over before I sent it to make sure it was polite enough and easy to understand. It ended up being long though; I just hope they'll read it all. ><

If they're in their late teens to early 20's and are like most of the kids I knew back in high school... they won't. (>.<) You know it's bad when you're of around average intellect, but you look like a bloody genius because of the rest of the people in the classroom.
Eh... I'm getting off-topic now, aren't I?

Well I hope they join and practice safe cutting, I wont mention everything that has already been mentioned, other then I couldn't help but notice the cutting in flip flops ewwwww i hate flip flops lol. At least they were cutting a banana most of the time in the girls hand, which could probably be cut with a butter knife. Doesn't make it right but its better than cutting some hard fruit. I wish I had their cutting confidence, i miss my cuts alot

I commented directly on the video page in hopes that not only they, but the other people who are seeing that video and think it's cool, might have a thought about it.
As you can all see, though, I was polite about it. It was just a heads up and a friendly invitation to our forum. I wasn't them to know about SBG if they are that careless in their cutting practice. We here can lead by example to those on the outside who still treat swords like sharp toys.
I hope he has read and considered the invite.

I thought your comment was very polite. What I had to say wouldn't have fit in one comment box, so I sent it as a message, haha.
+1 for being a good example! ^^

Thank you Midori for inspiring me to speak. It can be easy to see something like that and just say "how stupid", and then forget about it. YOU, Midori, inspired me to say something when it was still real to me. I wouldn't have even thought to say anything if it were not for you. Thanks.

Eh, I like my comment. Start out all in caps to get the youngsters attention, then hit them with logic. I call it the Greggers 1-2... well, not really. I just made that up on the spot.

Watching that makes me wish I didn't log on tonight, but then again since we all post and cut publically, that kind of semprini should be brought to our attention. Certainly that is not the message we send but there are the immature that see what we do and just got a try it, "fun style". Beligerant messages to these kids will not mean semprini, hopefully some intelligent suggestions to these kids will be positive.
