www.realarmorofgod.com/store/html/Products/Swords/Damascus-Blades/Damascus-Replacemen-671.htmlHave any of you had any experience with these? I have a project I'm working on that needs a blade yet and I was thinking either I'll use the Godfred replacement blade or one of these. The Godfred is attractive enough, but I like the look of these better from what I can tell. That's the thing though, the pics aren't that great. If anyone has seen one of these up close, any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

If they are what I think they are they are made in India, not saying that they are bad or anything.

I was thinking the same thing too! I love how those blades look! It would make a very unique katana.

"Damascus steel" either pattern welded or "real" isnt exactly unique in a katana though, is it?

u can get them much cheaper than that mate. check them out on ebay (although more risky).
pattern welded blades seems to go for nothing these days. must be nowhere as hard to make as i originally thought..either that or the quality is going right out the window...

It is very hard to make good damascus steel, it is not hard to mass produce damascus steel but it will not be as good as that done by hand from what I have come to understand. If you want really good damascus steel you want Jim Hrisoulas or Don Fogg or someone like that.

They look pretty crappy for the price. I would stay away.
