Hey you sword-customizers,
I have been looking on the forum trying to get some accurate information about bluing steel - I may have a project that I'd like to do this with. But the information seems contradictory at times. Would someone consider posting a bluing guide in this section, just to make it consistant?

For some DIY recipes to Chemical Blue, or Brown: www.geocities.com/thorvin.geo/browning_and_blueing_of_guns_and.htmPersonally I've had great results with Perma Blue. Don't even stuff around with recipes, when you can get Perma Blue for 10 to 15 dollars. If you want to get other colours like Purple, Bright Blue, Green or Brown then try heating your parts on the stove and quenching. They will go in roughly this order Purple > Blue > Green > Brown > Grey over time. Purple rocks. Obviously not good for blades.
