Has anyone purchased and tested a Windlass Cobra blade/short sword? Seems like enough people snatched up the Kindjal fast enough. So what's the word on these? Those metal rivets holding the sheath together seem cheesy but, aesthetics aside, and more importantly, will they scratch up against the blade? Seems like a weekend project to re-do them with some leather tie or something.

Well, if the rivet is tight enough, then it's not an issue. Sure they look... er... well yeah. But if the rivets are clamping the leather together tight enough, then a sword will not be able to touch the metal without going through a half inch of leather first. Now, if the rivet is loose, then yeah, you'll get metal, but from what I've seen they are tight. The only way you'd come close to hitting metal is if you have sliced through leather sheaths in the past. If that's the case, then you might want to reevaluate the way you sheath a blade.
One of these will probably be my next sword fix. I plan on making a wooden scabbard for it, and if the grip is at all funny in my hand, then I'll destroy the handle, take some pictures for information sake, and then make a wooden grip for it and wrap it in leather.
The more I talk about it the more I want to go to the site and "Add to cart"

I'm more in love with the Falcata & Kopis myself, but then I'm a fan of that blade style *hugs his Fhtagn*

One forumnite made a short text review in the general subject section of the forum, he bought a Cobra Steel Kindjal and seemed to like it. Besides that, I don't know, but they seem to me like decent, functional beaters.
