Glad it's not just me! I'd hate to look like the paranoid tin-foil hat guy in the corner D: Nothing wrong with a healthy dose of paranoia. Like the old saying goes: Just 'cause I'm paranoid doesn't mean nobody's after me. Besides, I have a thing against sites that list discontinued items without actually having them (such as the Cold Steel Chinese broadswords, which I've been dying to get even though I know I never will); it just seems like they don't give a fig about their customers in that respect. dom: Especially since you can get a GED (or Good Enough Diploma) in about 4 hours spread over two days. Sure beats 4 years of the social abuse from your peers, the condescension from your teachers (along with the occasional threat of dismemberment), the mind numbingly boring classwork, with only the occasional fight, bomb threat or riot to liven things up. And then it all gets taken away when you make a tiny little threat against someone who pisses you off by saying you're going to ram a pen through his trachea... I mean, when did that go out the window? ;D But then again, we all probably have nightmares about our high school years. No man, highschool textbooks are free. But university textbooks have awesome detail about historic battles and stuff....

My only concern with this company is half or more of their great deals are currently out of stock. So though it sounds good you might have to wait a long time, then in the end have them tell you the price went up, sorry no refund but you can have store credit. Not saying that has to be the way it works, but it would be my only worry. I might buy a couple small items from them for my brother's b-day which is coming up beginning of Oct. I will have to poke around and see what they have.
*edit added bellow and corrected a couple spelling mistakes above BTW interesting to note they actually have the stuff catogorized pretty correctly by each company. For example Mastery Cutlery owns Bushido, Masahiro, and Ryumon which they actually have listed under the MC banner.
Just a personal feeling, it seems to me that they seem to be sort of a wholesaler. A company set up to ship out to shops to mark up and sell. Just my feeling, that their low prices might be due to large quantity ordering.

I know I never did; all I ever learned about was either Texas or U.S. history. If I ever wanted to learn anything about Europe or France or the greater part of Asia that didn't directly affect the U.S., I had to find it out on my own. @ineff: Now that you say it, that's a very likely possibility. It would certainly make sense as to why their prices are so low. Plus, I learned something new from you, since I haven't kept up to date on my katana manufacturers and I had no idea Bushido, Masahiro, and Ryumon were owned by the same company.

Well after some research I'm pretty sure they are a wholesaler that is selling to the general public. Wholesalers will be able to sell for less because they purchase their wares in huge quantities and as such they get big discounts on their products.

Yep, that is one that has confused a lot of people and there has been a lot of speculation on in the past. See SMG for a little taste of the confusion. www.sword-manufacturers-guide.com/masahiro.html

Yeah, I always hated taking Canadian history. At least I only have to take one Canadian history course in the whole four years of my bachelor's! Also one American, but the rest is whatever I want! So Europe! BWA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! I love the textbooks we get too. I'll have to post a story about Louis, Duke of Bourbon in the Hundred Years' War in the history section. Seriously one of my favourite stories of bloodless battle and over-chivalric silliness ever.

I found it interesting that they have the VA Longsword for around 100 bucks less then what I paid for mine a year ago. Unfortunately I don't have sword money right now, else I'd take the leap of faith on something from them.

I checked out the site and clicked on a few products but they were out of stock. If anyone has bought from them or takes it for the SBG team - let us know.
