ok...here the deal...My first Hanwei Raptor I got had alot of surface scratches on the Ji. THose of you the have one know its kind of a satin finish, But id like to ge those scratches out, if not completely then just enough where theyre not totally visable ( i'd like for them to just blend in, im nott looking for a mirror finish at this point) its never cut anyting before , and i cant catch a fingernail in them, so basically theyre just surface scratches. What i'd like to know is would fine sandpaper work? I think its like 100 and 150 grit, I know to keep with the grain and use some mineral oil to keep things all lubed up. any further suggestions, or completely different ones before i go and start doing this?
-Thanks
-Brad

Go with 1000 and 2000 for polishing. 150 and 100 are more suitable for smoothing wood or Bondo.

You can use 150-300 if you want to remove deeper scratches but always go higher in the end. Don't know how deep your scratches are, but if they're deep it'll take you a LONG time with 1000 grit ;D

theyre all basically surface scratches...like something metal has rubbed up against them....maybe bad stacking techniques at the factory.

Odd that you got a scratched blade. However you can try using something like "Flitz" metal polish. If that doesn't work then you can go and try using as was said above 1000 grit or 2000 grit sandpaper. If its just very light small scratches don't go any coarser than 1000 grit... The other option is to polish the whole blade with 1000 grit then continue to do so with 2000 grit then go to 3000 grit and finish off with Flitz. Then you'll have a mirror finish.
EDIT:
Btw since it bugs me; "I have a scratched Raptor" or "I received a scratched Raptor." "I gots a scratched Raptor" is very bad grammar even to my ears.
