Thanks Ramm.
Swordboy: I used a wax string underneath, which acts like a light adhesive to keep the grip in place. Then on the final wrap around (last 1.5 inches) I used adhesive.

Only the leather. Underneath the leather is wood, which can be nicely shaped with a dremel.

I like the work you did on the second sword.

Is that the Gen2 Lucerne? Looks very nice. How would you rate it? I've been looking into either a Black Prince or a Lucerne or a Dordonge, and redoing the hilt, and I gotta say it looks very nice. Which would you recommend? The only thing that puts me off is the bulkiness of the guard.
You might want to switch the colours up a little. I like variety.

After adding the premium leather with risers, I would rate it an A+. With the length of the hilt, and overall weight of the sword at only 3.2 lbs it makes for a great one-handed sword with the hand next to the guard, but if you scoot your grip back towards the pommel it turns into a wonderful two-hander because the balance point changes giving the blade more presence. At only an additional $30 for the custom grip, it's a real bargain. www.armsofvalour.com/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=AOVL&Product_Code=IP-077-2C&Category_Code=ICIB

Well, I can do the grips myself. But just for comparison, (since you are about the only person I know that has access to all three.) how does the Lucerne compare to the Black Prince, compare to the Dordonge? Feel free to PM me so we don't clutter up the thread.
BTW, I think this is a great idea for you guys to do.

In my opinion the Lucerne is the most versatile of the three, and my personal choice simply because of the hilt length allowing for a nice change of balance point when needed. I don't recommend the Dordogne at all. It is very whippy, and the length of blade makes it's blade presence too strong for essentially a single-handed sword. I didn't like it.

With almost an identical blade, I give the nod to the Lucerne because of the versatility of the hilt.
