I own the Tomoe model from the Musashi 1060 line, the line everybody is in love with right now. Recently my sword stand got knocked over and I found out a big disadvantage with these swords: the sukashi style iron fittings didn't take the impact very well. (not that im suggesting anyone should skip a purchase of one of the swords from that line, as they are still some of the most impressive low cost swords available... just be careful, the sukashi tsubas can't take a whole lot of punishment.) SOOO anyhow. I disassembled it, thinking I'd order another tsuba and be done. Put it back together minus the tsuba and held it for a minute. Put it back in its says, looked at it for a minute. Annnd now I don't want a tsuba on that sword. But what can I put there? Where can I get it? I really would rather not resort to putting 4 seppas in the space, it seems kinda desperate. Does anybody know where I could find something like this?

Allso since you dont have any way of working steel, And I say yes you do, break off the rest of the tsuba from the center part, then take the part in the midle and go out side to some concreat and start rubbing the nubs of, soon you will have a smooth but grainy sided Tsuba that you custom modifide......SanMarc.

Yep, my advice too. Cut down your tsuba that broke. Be sure to give your self a bit of room when cutting, then move to files to finish the mod to the old tsuba. Problem solved. If you want to flash it up some, you can solder a few little ornamental pieces going around it. If you need to find some ornaments look at a bead shop. You can also paint it if needed etc.

well, that was my plan. the good ole' Mother-in-law was over helping us with a garage sale, saw the damaged tsuba laying on the kitchen table and thought it was junk. By the time I noticed it was gone a day later the trash was long gone.
