My older brothers and their wives came over last night, they know about my swords but haven't seen them. what's the first thing my one brother does........... runs his thumb along the blade. Fortunately he did it sideways and not down the length so no injury. His comment was "it's not very sharp", so I got to explain to them about an "apple seed" edge and show them how sharp that actually is. ;D Though my oldest brother says "so are these stainless steel?" Hey I didn't know better at one time not so long ago. ;D With all of that said, I was just so excited that people wanted to see my swords and didn't look at me like I was nuts!

They see my sword room and I can see their minds working "is this guy some kind of psycho?". That's what my mum thinks anyway... Your mum thinks I'm a pshcho?

Well, a few days after, the wound is now about half it's original size, as the more shallow part has already healed (I heal very fast. VERY. good metabolism is a useful thing) I am in the middle of building a closed 6-sword display, like a little cabinet with a clear front, though i still didn't decide if i should go for glass, because it looks better, or lexan/perspex/plexiglass, call it whatever you want (polycarbonate plastic), because it's as clear as glass, but hell of a lot more durable, and pretty much unbrakeable.

Love you, too, shadow. Glad you're healing up nicely, pika. I'd go with glass, irrationally, but can see good reason to use the poly stuffs.

Most people that come over show little or no interest in my swords. I kinda wish they would. That's because you invite the wrong people over. Where the heck is the "Hey Greg, wanna come over and look at all my swords!?!" And I'd be like, "Hell yeah! As long as I can hold em" Then you'd be like "Heck with just holding them, why don't you go stab that tire over there!" ... at least that's how it happens in my daydreams. Pika: I'd go for the plexiglass if I were to make a sword case. Granted, glass will keep your brother from getting to them, but it's a lot harder to get into plexiglass if it's installed correctly.

Ok I have to vote for glass just for the "In case, for emergency, break glass!"But maybe it is just me thinking that.

This reminds me of when I was younger, and sold sword-like-objects (made with authentic slave labor in Pakistan!) at the flleamarkets. These weren't even remotely decent swords, all stainless steel and no tang to speak of, but most came with a bit of an edge.
This guy came up talking about all he knew about swords, going on about this and that, and how skilled he was, and then proceeded to slice his thumb open running it along the edge of a $25 "katana".
I was more upset that he bled on my table.

Anyways, galss it is since i came up with another idea to improve durability and anti-thieft qualities. *I promise to put said sticker and post pictures once it's done.

That won't be on a mere sticker. That is going to be engraved on the wooden top. In classic, ye-olde-English style letters.

Right now, the swords are just going on the wall in the master bedroom. My son knows mommy and daddy's room is a no-no zone, and we don't invite guests into our bedroom. I do want to get a wall mount locking glass display case, but I don't have the room or tools to build one myself, and I'm not sure if the budget is going to allow me to order the two I would need as my wife's scimitar will not fit in the same type of case my Jian would.
I have already trained the neighbors to stay away from my knives and machetes, so the swords shouldn't be too much more of an issue as "out of sight - out of mind."
