I had a gastro bug not long ago( a present from one of my son's kindy mates), so I wasn't feeling like doing much training due to cramps and the proximity of the toilet. Although you would probably be surprised how much winging I got done, anyway, I had one of those what alcoholics call a moment of pure clarity. Due to my rather regular cutting at the mo., I noticed the tarnish on my kosh was coming off revealing a silvery undertone. Ohhhhh, silver. So then I had it in my head what it would look like in silver kosh. I grabbed the BRASSO and started polishing the fuchi and kashira, I didn't want it gleaming just antiquey-silver looking is good. Put it all back on the sword and it just looked weird with the standard PPK tsuba, so off it all came again. Straight on ebay, as I had seen a few silver and golden tsubas a day of two earlier and settled on the one in the picture. Sort of has that wheel theme the original one had, so a week later when it arrived, alittle filing and it was on. close up of new tsuba. Just to prove good things can come from gastro, I thought I would share that with you. ;D

Very nice! Did you get some brasso on your ito or is that something else... glue?

Like the sword, like the tsuka, hate the tsuba. (Not to be rude in any way)

Very nice. The tone of that tsuba matches your polishing job quite well, doesn't it? A lucky find and a cool mod!

Well yeah mate, things got pretty bad there for a moment. There was even one point it was so bad, I contemplated drinking the missus's low-carb beer left over from xmas. ;D Very nice! Did you get some brasso on your ito or is that something else... glue? It doesn't show up very well but the ito is quite mucky indeed. When I go into the local state forest for a bit of outdoor training, my hands tend to get a bit gritty, soily and sweaty. This tends to rub itself into the ito overtime and has actually turned it (when you look at it close-up)a dirty brown/black, Excellent ;D. My intent is to have it go like a gunto tsuka from WWII, all worn and weathered. Very nice. The tone of that tsuba matches your polishing job quite well, doesn't it? A lucky find and a cool mod! Cheers slav

Oh, I forgot to ask. You mentioned that you did a little filing, was the tsuba thicker than your PPK's tsuba? Which one did you have to file to make it fit?
