I am in the market for a new Iaito, I want it to have the same weight as a shinken so that counts out the aluminum/tin ones and the ones by Hanwei I have seen. I don't know some people will disagree with me but I can't see the point in spending lots of money on an Iaito, it is a training tool after all, I would rather cheap out with the Iaito and put the rest towards a Shinken. I am thinking of buying the sea dragon from Musashi swords then getting some abrasive paper and carefully removing the edge. Do you guys think it would work?has any one tried something like this before?

Think you mean iaito musashi and I would not advise dulling a shinken,an iaito would work out cheap enough, try the cheness range of standard iaito, same as their 1045 live blades, just blunt.

Sorry for my bad spelling, I have fixed it up now. I have been considering a cheness but thaught that if dulling a $70 Musashi works out it will be a little cheaper. Is there any reason why reason why dulling it won't work out?

No particular reason musashi, just seems a shame to dull a blade but if it works out cheaper then give it a go.

They'll cost you a lot more than those lucky US buyers. Look at the G- Series for a decent blade too. I don't know anything about those ebay Oz-Auction hand forged katanas, but one person here got one and reckond it worked.

I'm going to sent them an e-mail tonight and see if they can send one to Oz, normally shipping from the US is only $60 for a sword.
