Can you tell me what type of steel En 45 is I found a few bulk swords and that's the type of steel referenced? Thanks all.

I am not sure how "scientific" you want, but it is known as a spring steel. It is a popular choice for some blade makers, and is generally accepted as a good blade steel, particularly for re-enactment blades.

If you have ever heard of James Raw, he works almost exclusively with EN45 for his katana. The blades have a very good reputation.

I believe EN45 (available in the UK as I recall) is fairly similar to our 9260. Should be a good blade steel, but of course that all depends, like any decent steel, on the maker and the heat treat.
