So I purchased the above katana on an eBay auction. I waited for nearly three weeks for my katana. Now I was a little excited to recieve the sword. When the guy from toll said " i have a delivery from global gear" I knew straight away what it was. Now I have purchased another sword before and was appaled to find it scratched and dinged. So I was expecting a better kind of packaging from a so called company of professionals. A company that obviously buys thier swords at a really good trade price. Then on sells the swors for double and sometimes tripple the price. Now back to my initial point. I was handed the sword which was packaged in one layer of corrugated cardboard. Now i payed a total of $25- for the shipping and handling, which i guess cost them $2 in cardboard and $5- to post. The saya was damaged and the tsuba had worn through the cardboard and was now scratched to buggery. Not a pleasant buying expierance at all. Now this is number two of two swords I have purchase in the last fortnight that has arrived broken and damaged. So now I'm wary of upcomming arrivals. How will they arrive. And especially that all future swords are sub $200USD. In closing Global Gear will not be getting anymore of my business as their shoddy S&H has let em down...

which Kill Bill blade was it, one of the 900 series, or was it the cheaper version. I have the 900 series Bills sword and the packaging on it was superb. Of course that was a year or so ago.

Matt, if you want to start locally, go and see James at War Sword in Carina, he has a good range. If you want to buy internationally/nationally soon (and some things that others just either don't have or can't get) speak to Rob from Stromloswords.
James is great value as you can walk into the store and handle before you buy.
Rob is superb value as he is an Aussie living overseas that understands what it means to live in Australia and try to order stuff from elsewhere.
I can highly recommend Rob as I've dealt with him for a purchase that was far too easy with great results.
I've not purchased a sword from James, but have ordered a GDFB Hauberk from him and visited the store a few times, he is always ready for a chat.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Global Gear, I would definitely pick up the phone and let them know of the problems.
Cheers,
Brett

No Rob, I have two others comming as well and they are the ones I'm wary on. I have the utmost trust in your S&H techniques..
