I was just wondering if anyone knew of a place to buy sword parts.
For example, pommels and guards. I could make my own, but it would be more trouble then it's worth, because I'm lacking the right tools.
These would be medieval parts, not Japanese BTW.
If anyone knows, can you help me out?

You can buy blades, pommels, guards and gripes from Darksword. Just shoot them an email and they can give you quotes on anything they have in their catalog. -Will

Ha ha ha ha ha JP I emailed that vendor and they have a store with heaps of cool parts. It fully kicks $emprini! Many of those parts will be useful on the swords I plan to make. Should save me some time and give me some new choices. I still like to know I made the part myself, so I'll probably modify the parts a bit. V Happy man. www.varmouries.com/vspecial.html

Feedback on some parts I bought from this Vendor: www.varmouries.com/vspecial.htmlThat is the webpage for the Vendor JP Franco listed above on ebay. The communication has been first rate. Email him at this address, he has a couple: mich@varmouries.com Here is a photo of the parts I got. Prices are very affordable, but some of the parts seem to be a bit hit and miss. This is the feedback I emailed back to Mich. "The SC curved cross slot is way off centre, and has no narrow tang section. Its different on each side and too big for any sword. I'll have to see if I can fill the slot completely, and re cut it. (Don't get it its a waste of money) The SD guard is really nice for the money, and will do nicely once I tidy it up. The PD was scratched, but may be able to be sanded back. The hole in the PW is off centre, but will run straight once I widen it with the milling machine. The PT stopper pommel is perfect. Very nice! The AE brass cross isn't bad. A bit rough but wouldn't be hard to fix up. The VO is only 11mm at one side, but will be OK for use once I grind it down.. I will use the SD guard on my new leaf blade project, and the Scent stopper pommel. The parts arrived here in Australia 7 days after I placed the order. I do recommend this vendor to anyone in North America. But look closely at the photos. If it looks rough, it will be. If it looks tidy, it will be. HINT: zoom in your browser.

Good for you Brenno. What did you end up paying for shipping?

It ended up being $60 US to Australia. Which is bludy typical. Its always heaps. But worth it for the 6 or so hours it will save me making the parts. This is roughly what it will look like lol.

Premade crossguards and hilt furniture? Hm. That may be very useful. I can definitely make the actual handle piece myself, but the thought of making a good looking crossguard was giving me grey hairs.
